Privacy Policy

Blurbi (“we”, “us”) provides an AI-powered product description generator at blurbi.ai and the Blurbi Chrome extension. We've written this policy in plain English so you know exactly what we collect, why, and how to remove it.

• We only collect what we need to run the product.
• We never sell your data.
• We never train AI models on your input.
• You can delete your account and all your data anytime from Settings.

Account details — email address, name (optional), and a hashed password (or your Google account ID if you sign in with Google).

Generation inputs and outputs — the product details you submit (title, category, features, condition, brand, price, photos), the platform and tone you select, and the description we generate for you. These are stored in your private history so you can re-copy or edit them later.

Usage data — which platforms you use, how many descriptions you've generated this month, and aggregated event logs (e.g., a generation completed, a Pro upgrade occurred). We use this to enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and improve the product.

Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID. We never see or store your card number, CVC, or billing address. Stripe's own privacy policy applies at stripe.com/privacy.

Chrome extension — when you click “Generate” in the extension popup, we read the title field of the marketplace listing page you're on (eBay, Etsy, Amazon, Shopify, Depop) and send it along with your platform/tone selection to our API. We do not read browsing history, passive page content, or anything outside the listing form. The extension only acts when you explicitly click it.

• We do not track your browsing history.
• We do not access your camera, microphone, or location.
• We do not read pages you visit unless you click the Blurbi extension on a supported marketplace listing page.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.
• We do not use your data to train any AI model — yours or anyone else's.

To generate descriptions, we send your input (product details and optional photos) to Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic processes the request and returns the description. Per Anthropic's commercial API terms, your inputs are not used to train their models and are retained only briefly for safety/abuse review (typically up to 30 days), then deleted.

• Generations and account data — stored until you delete them or close your account.
• Event logs — kept for up to 24 months for abuse prevention and analytics.
• Stripe customer records — retained per Stripe's policies and applicable accounting law (typically 6-7 years for tax records).
• Backups — automated database backups are kept for up to 30 days.

You can do all of the following yourself, no email needed, from Settings at blurbi.ai/settings:

• Update your name
• Change your password
• Delete individual generations from History
• Cancel your Pro subscription via the Stripe customer portal
• Permanently delete your account, which removes all your generations, history, and bulk jobs and cancels any active subscription

If you're in the UK or EU, you also have the rights granted by UK GDPR / GDPR — including access, portability, erasure, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or your local supervisory authority. To exercise these rights beyond what the in-app controls allow, email us at hello@blurbi.ai.

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Database connections use Supabase's pooler with SSL. We follow industry-standard practices for secret management and access control. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the surface area small and minimise what we store.

Blurbi is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.

If we make material changes, we'll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify active users by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
